Seven Tips To Save Money On Your Wedding Flowers
Flowers can be one of the most expensive parts of your wedding, but they are essential. So we fork out the money in hopes that we can cut cost elsewhere. This is not necessary! These are some great ideas to save money on the flowers used in the wedding, without sacrificing one single bud!
1. Talk to the florist to see what wedding flowers are in season during the time of your wedding. Flowers that are not in season will have to be imported and will cost much more that those which are readily available.
2. Be honest with your florist. Tell her your budget. Tell her the wedding flowers you love and the flowers that you hate. If the flowers that you love are not in season or are too expensive, she will be able to help you find a similar flower.
3. Try and plan the wedding around Christmas or Easter. This way the church will likely already be somewhat decorated. Always avoid planning the wedding around valentines day, since this is the time of year when all flowers are much more expensive.
4. Keep in mind that the large arrangements that are placed on the alter will not be seen close up and take this as an opportunity to save money. You can make a great arrangement from filler flowers such as carnations or large snowball mums.
5. You could choose to have the reception outside in a park or garden that is already in bloom. This will save you a ton of money on decorations for the reception.
6. Consider contacting a party supplier to ask about renting potted plants or ficus trees. These will give the impression of a room full of flowers, without the cost.
7. Consider arranging you own flowers. A lot of brides are creating beautiful arrangements for center pieces that are simply roses without greenery tied with a ribbon. Adding candles to these arrangements is a great way to give them a touch of romance.
