Wedding Photographers: Choosing the Best!
Your wedding photos will serve as a reminder of your special day for the rest of your life. This is why choosing the right photographer for your wedding is absolutely essential. There are some very skilled photographers that will not be right for you. Each photographer has a unique style and you must be sure that that style is similar to yours. These are some things that you should do to make certain that you are getting the right photographer for your wedding.
1. Ask family and friends for recommendations. You can also ask anyone whom you know that has recently had wedding photos taken for a referral. Ask what things that their photographer did that they loved and hated. You can also consult the yellow pages and if your using a wedding planner, they are sure to have an opinion about great wedding photographers.
2. Always ask to see a complete set of wedding photographs that the photographer has competed. This will give you and idea of not just the fabulous work that he/she has done, but also the not so great.
3. Be sure to interview the wedding photographer in person so that you are able to see his/her personality. You must choose a photographer that you will be able to easily communicate with and get along with.
4. Don't be afraid to ask about prices, and I don't mean in general. Ask about specifics of pricing. Sometimes you will be hit with hidden charges for the use of backdrops, a studio fee, mileage, and other hidden charges, so make sure that you have the photographer provide a completed quote on the total amount for the wedding.
5. After you choose the photographer, have another meeting with him/her to determine the specific poses that you want. Be sure to provide him/her a list of family members that you want photographed and in what way that you want it done. He/she should have some samples for you to choose from or from which you can make adjustments.
6. Ask about purchasing proofs and/ negatives from the photographer. Also ask about how long that the negatives will be available if you choose not to purchase them.
7. Choose and book the photographer at least a year in advance if possible.
